Hallo aus Berlin

As the more astute of you may have guessed, I'm in Berlin right now. Spent the day wandering around the city with my friend Grant from the architecture program at good ol' DIS. We're staying in by far the homiest hostel I've been to thus far. It's called Paula's Comfy Corner and is located in the western side of the city. It's really just an apartment, owned by someone named Paula (weird eh?) and staffed by two very nice Russian girls. We taught one of them how to carve a pumpkin last night while quaffing Glühwein. Twas excellent.

The train ride here was quite enjoyable. The European rail system truly does run like clockwork, as does the ferry system which I suppose means that the public transportation system is excellent as a whole.
A vista. There were a lot of these.
Following are some assorted highlights from our roaming.
Otto von Bismarck Memorial.
We found trees in the Tiergarten, and being the highly mature college students we are, we naturally climbed them.
Foliage. Glorious.
Soviet War Memorial
Brandednburger Tor.
Der Reichstag.
The newly constructed Holocaust Memorial.
Potsdam Platz.
A piece of the wall.
Judisches Museum.
The stairs inside.
